Advocacy

For over 100 years, members of the Junior League of Chattanooga have served as advocates for community partners and initiatives in the Chattanooga region and the state of Tennessee. From advocating for child laws at the state legislature to promoting healthy habits at local schools, JLC has played a vital role in building a better community.

JLC is an active member of the Advocacy and Public Awareness (APA) Committee, a state level coalition formed and owned by the Junior League of Tennessee to facilitate networking, coordinate information and research, promote awareness and advocate on issues of shard interest.

APA’s mission is to train and assist member Leagues in their advocacy and public awareness programs; to identify social issues of shared interest that impact the projects and activities of member Leagues and to develop and coordinate respective advocacy and public awareness programs.

JLC routinely engages with state and local decision makers to share our mission and community impact strategies.
